If you’re studying Old Edinburgh with your class, then you’ll want to get them out and about in the Old Town itself.  Our differentiated tours have been expertly designed by a teacher to give your pupils the best possible learning experiences in the heart of Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage Site.  They will explore archive maps, pictures, photographs and artefacts as well as hear about characters such as Burke and Hare, Mary, Queen of Scots, Deacon Brodie and Greyfriars Bobby.  Your guide is a teacher with over twenty years of primary teaching experience. Bookings available Mon-Wed    Price £4 per pupil
Edinburgh is one of Britain’s prettiest conference venues, and we’re sure that your guests will want to experience the Old Town for themselves. Your tour will be tailored to your specific needs, with pickup and drop-off locations suitable to you, and will stay within the time constraints of your program. Your guests will be led by a smartly dressed local tour guide, wearing a kilt, who has an intimate knowledge of the Old Town. He is the winner of the 2017 ‘Tour Guide of the Year’ award given out by the  Luxury Travel Guide. Please email for details robert@historicedinburghtours.co.uk
HISTORIC EDINBURGH TOURS
“I was on a tour with Robert last Saturday. It was so wonderful because he's such a fantastic tour guide with such a profound knowledge of the history. It was a great joy to listen to the stories about the Old Town. The visual aids he uses are a perfect addition to them and as you see the 'then and now' you get a better idea of what the Old Town must have been like. Robert is so friendly and patient and has a good sense of humour. His enthusiasm is contagious but never ever boring. I highly recommend this tour because I enjoyed every minute of it.”
WHY CHOOSE US?
BOOK GREYFRIARS KIRKYARD TOUR BOOK OLD EDINBURGH TOUR
Explore two old towns for the price of one on this special guided tour!  Edinburgh and the Canongate are joined by the Royal Mile; this guided tour will let you explore some of the most picturesque parts of ‘Old Edinburgh.'
This Edinburgh guided tour focuses on the life of the Victorian poor, and it doesn't hold back on the stories of how our ancestors managed to survive being on the lowest rung in Scotland's capital city.  This is one of our most fascinating tours!
We were delighted to appear on the Dutch TV show ‘Verborgen Verleden’, featuring in an episode with media personality Sacha de Boer.  Our archive has also been used in a variety of international newspapers, magazines, documentaries, and books.
If you’re studying ‘Old Edinburgh’ with your class then our forthcoming resource will help you deliver the Curriculum for Excellence Social Studies Benchmarks.  This interactive whiteboard resource should be available for testing in September 2017.  Email us if you’re interested in testing it with your class.
We believe that every company should ‘do their bit, ’ and we will run semi-regular tours with proceeds going to Streetwork.  We’ve done two already in 2017.    Streetwork helps people who are homeless in Edinburgh.  Click below to find out what Streetwork does and how you can help.
Are you ready to experience a different way of looking at ‘Old Edinburgh’, or the people buried in Greyfriars Kirkyard?  The hand- held projectors allow us to show you how Edinburgh used to look…or who is buried beneath your feet in Greyfriars Kirkyard!
