Discover how Historic Edinburgh Tours can help enhance your documentary on Old Edinburgh. We’ve already featured in one major Dutch TV programme, and have been involved in a number of other shows.
Old Edinburgh documentary filming
If your documentary needs a little local ‘colour’ and expertise, then we’d love to help. We’ve appeared on both national TV and in local student radio and video documentaries. In September 2016 we were honoured to be involved in the research and filming for a national Dutch TV program. ‘Verborgen Verleden’ is the Dutch equivalent of the BBC ‘Who do you think you are?’ and we worked with the researchers on a segment of film with media personality Sacha de Boer. Not only did tour guide (and company owner) Robert feature on the program and prominently on the trailer, we also provided some material from our copyright archive of old Edinburgh imaged. We fulfilled a similar role in a student production about Greyfriars Kirkyard. Robert is a practising primary school teacher with over twenty years of experience in education, and he knows how to pitch his stories to perfection. He was born in Edinburgh and has lived all his life in the capital and has the accent you’d expect of a refined Scot! We don’t like to boast, but Robert even attended the same primary school as a certain Sean Connery. Robert can wear traditional Scots dress for your documentary. We love to hear from people who are keen to showcase Edinburgh and its history. If you think we can help you, then please don’t hesitate to contact us.
